Research in Visual Culture has always been one of the main priorities for the Centre, although the focus has been shifting recently. From the broader fields of cinema theory and new media theory our projects are moving into more historically saturated, case-oriented studies of cult movies, street art on the Internet, visual culture of contemporary cities, etc. We are trying to combine our theoretical interest in the development of visual (post)Modernity with the task of finding appropriate methodological tools for analysis of multiple visual phenomena surrounding us in everyday life.

Our research areas include:

· Graffiti and Street art

· Visual imagery of contemporary cities

· City on the Internet
