COOPERATION WITH EBERHARD KARLS UNIVERSITY

 Under the Agreement on Cooperation between National Research University "Higher School of Economics" (Moscow) and Eberhard Karls University (Tübingen) IGITI cooperates with the Institut für Osteuropäische Geschichte und Landeskunde (Director — Prof. Dr. Klaus Gestwa).


Three-year agreement provides for research projects in three fields:
1. History of everyday life in Russia
2. Visual studies
3. Intellectual history

In October of 2011, Irina Savelieva, Director of IGITI, and Elena Vishlenkova, Deputy Director, visited the University of Tübingen. Here Irina Savelieva delivered a paper "In search of the new ‘turns’: history and theory in the 21st century" on October, 17 during the session of scientific seminar in the Institute of East-European History and Country Research. On October, 19 Elena Vishlenkova delivered a paper "University archives in Russia as a cultural project" in the same seminar.

In 2012 professors from Eberhard Karls University visited Moscow. On May, 15 Prof. Dr. Ewald Frie and Prof. Dr. Klaus Gestwa spoke in the seminar "Collaborative Research Clusters in German Humanities. A Field Report".

International team of researchers including Prof. Elena Vishlenkova contributed into a special volume of the journal "Jahrbücher für Geschichte Osteuropas" dedicated to visual studies in Russia. In December of 2012 it was published under the supervision of Prof. Klaus Gestwa (2012, Bd.60, H.4)

In March of 2012 Irina Savelieva and Elena Vishlenkova will pay an official visit to Tübingen. They will participate in the presentation of the collective volume "Jahrbücher für Geschichte Osteuropas", discuss collaborative research projects and plans of academic mobility. Irina Savelieva will also give consultations on American studies in the Soviet Union during the period of the Cold War. 

Oleg Morozov, research assistant in IGITI, has received an invitation to the University of Tübingen as a trainee.
