About the Institute

Institute for Theoretical and Historical Studies in the Humanities (Russian acronym — IGITI) was founded in 2002. The Institute actively co-operates with scientific centers and individual scientists working in the social theoretical research field. This is achieved via communication strategies, which are usual practice in the scientific community: joint scientific projects, ongoing series of open seminars, active participation in publishing projects, organization of conferences, etc. The Institute is also actively engaged in teaching activities, which allow students to keep up with the contemporary scientific knowledge.

Currently the Institute consists of four Centers.
