Annual Convention of ASEEES (Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies).

Alexander Dmitriev presented a paper "Modernism at the Service of Socialist Realism: Vsevolod Vishnevsky as Cultural Ambassador", and participated in a round table discussion "Education in the Making of Modern Russia: Pathways to the Present". Boris Stepanov presented a paper "Soviet Science-Fiction Films and Post-Soviet Cinematic Experience".
