IGITI Research Assistant Elena Lisitsyna took part in the conference "Russian Science in the European Context in the First Half of the Nineteenth Century", which was held on November 12–13, 2019 in the Russian National Library, St. Petersburg.
The conference "Russian Science in the European Context in the First Half of the Nineteenth Century" celebrated the 250th anniversary of birth and 190th anniversary of travel to Russia of the famous traveller and naturalist Alexander von Humboldt. His travel across the Urals and Siberia, at the invitation of the Russian government, was an important milestone in the networking of the European scientific community with the Russian Empire. The main topics of the discussions were the neglected aspects of Humboldt's research and his collaboration with the Russian scholars, as well as the academic communication between Russia and European countries in the 18th and in the first half of the 19th century. IGITI Research Assistant Elena Lisitsyna presented a paper, which was dedicated to the research activities of a Prussian physician in the Russian Empire (1731–1780).
