Poletayev Institute researchers participated in the conference on Collective Memory in Contemporary Russia

Poletayev Institute research fellow Daria Khlevnyuk and research intern Kirill Molotov took part in the international conference "Collective Memory in Contemporary Russia: The Soviet Past in Post-Soviet Context(s)". The conference was held online on September 22-24, 2021, and was organized by the Institute of Russian and Eurasian Studies at the University of Uppsala.

Daria Khlevnyuk presented a paper "Surveying Russian Memory of Repressions: Method of Dilemmas", dedicated to the questionnaire method in memory research and examples of its application. Kirill Molotov in the paper "That's Me, and that's Stalin! We're Married!": What Are Neo-Stalinists Doing on TikTok?" discussed how neo-Stalinists use TikTok to broadcast their versions of the past.
