On 3-4 June 2019, International Workshop "Beyond Post-Truth: Media Landscapes in the 'Age of Insecurity'" took place in St. Petersburg. It was organised in collaboration with IGITI. We are glad to present a report on the event and video recordings of some talks.

On 27 November, IGITI Leading Research Fellow Kirill Levinson presented a paper titled "One Expedition - Numerous Perceptions" at the Institute of European Studies at the University of Bremen (Germany).
Leading research fellow of IGITI and the head of the Research Centre for Contemporary Culture Natalia Samutina took part in the international symposium "Theorizing Anime: Invention of Concepts and Conditions of Their Possibility", held in Tokyo on November 16-17, 2019.
The IGITI leading research fellow Olessia Kirtchik delivered a communication at the conference "The economists state: the economic science and economists in the XXth and the XXIth centuries" (L’État des économistes: La science économique face à la puissance publique (XXe-XXIe siècle) held on November 21 and 22, 2019, in Amiens, France.
IGITI Research Assistant Elena Lisitsyna took part in the conference "Russian Science in the European Context in the First Half of the Nineteenth Century", which was held on November 12–13, 2019 in the Russian National Library, St. Petersburg.
On 10 October 2019 IGITI research fellow Jan Surman took part in the round-table "Habsburg Knowledge Initiative: Central Europe in Historical Perspective" at the conference "Empire of Circulation: Habsburg Knowledge in its Global Settings" (IKT Annual Conference 2019, Vienna).
On September 26–28, a Summer School for paleography and autobiography studies was organised by IGITI and German Historical Institute in Moscow (DHI).
IGITI Research Assistants and members of the team of the project "On Land and Sea: Medical geography in the Russian empire (1770–1870)" Elena Lisitsyna and Vladislav Yakovenko took part in the summer school “Russian Empire / Soviet Union Through the Lens of Global and New Imperial Histories”, held in Tyumen State University on June 30 - July 5.
On September 6, a lecture by IGITI Chief Research Fellow and George Steiner Professor of Comparative Literature at Queen Mary University of London Galin Tihanov was held at the Higher School of Economics. See the abstract and photos of the event.
Leading Research Fellow of IGITI Kirill Levinson took part in the conference "Take Back Aging: Power, Critique, Imagination". It was a joint international conference of the North American and European Networks in Aging Studies hosted by the Trent Centre for Aging & Society, Trent University, Peterborough, Canada. Kirill Levinson presented a paper "Changes in the Soviet Academia’s Age-Related Personnel Policies During the Cold War." See the programme and abstract.
